Decide your amperage first
48 amps needs a 60-amp circuit. 40 amps needs 50. 32 amps needs 40. Lower settings are legitimate choices, not compromises, if your daily mileage is moderate or your panel is tight.
Pick the mounting location deliberately
Consider where the car actually parks, which side the charge port is on, and whether you may add a second vehicle later. Moving a hardwired unit afterward is real work.
Plan for power sharing if you may add a second EV
Wall Connectors can be linked to share one circuit. Running the wire for that possibility now is far cheaper than opening the wall again in two years.
What to send an installer
Photo of the open panel, photo of the mounting wall, and a note on whether you want 32, 40, or 48 amps. That's enough for a genuinely useful estimate.
