The 80-amp question
An 80-amp charger on a 100-amp circuit is a large load. On a 200-amp residential service it is often possible after a load calculation; on smaller services it usually is not without upgrades.
Many Lightning owners install at 48 amps instead, which still fully charges overnight for typical driving and fits far more Indiana panels.
Home backup power
Extended-range Lightnings with the Charge Station Pro can support home backup power with additional Ford equipment. That is a separate installation scope from basic charging — tell your installer up front if you want it, because it changes the design.
What to photograph
The open panel including the main breaker rating, the meter base outside, and the wall where the charger will mount. For a Lightning install, the meter and service entrance matter more than they do for a smaller charger.
