Matching the charger to the vehicle
The Bolt and Bolt EUV accept up to about 48 amps with the dual-level cord set, though many owners are perfectly served by 32 amps. The Equinox EV and Blazer EV benefit from 40 to 48 amps.
The Silverado EV has a large pack and, like the Lightning, is the case where higher amperage is genuinely worth the extra panel work.
Typical Indiana installation
For a Bolt owner with a 200-amp panel in the garage, this is often among the simplest and least expensive EV charger installations available — a short run, a 40-amp breaker, and a couple of hours of work.
